This webinar will provide family physicians and primary care teams with a practical walkthrough of the Osteoporosis EMR Custom Tool designed to support the assessment and management of osteoporosis. The session will demonstrate the tool in Telus PS Suite EMR (Accuro and Oscar are available for download) and showcase how it can be integrated into everyday clinical workflows while highlighting how the tool reflects the Clinical Practice Guideline for Management of Osteoporosis and Fracture Prevention in Canada: 2023 Update. A 20-minute Q&A period will follow.
Presenter
Dr. Upe Mehan
Dr. Mehan is a graduate of the University of Western Ontario and completed his family medicine residency at Queen’s University. He has been in practice for over 35 years and currently works at the Centre for Family Medicine Family Health Team and satellite site for McMaster University’s Family Medicine residency program. He is an Assistant Clinical Professor with McMaster University and Adjunct Clinical Professor at Western University, in their departments of family medicine. He is passionate about teaching and has won several teaching awards and an Award of Excellence from the College of Family Physicians of Canada. He has a strong interest in Continuing Medical Education and his interests include Osteoporosis, Diabetes, Chronic Kidney Disease, Obesity, and Mental Health disorders including Insomnia. He is a champion for the implementation of digital health tools to allow primary care to deliver evidence-based care with greater ease.
